NSW chase Sangakkara

NSW have added talented but injury prone Australian cricket team all-rounder Shane Watson to their squad and also hope to have Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara on board for part of next summer.

Watson, who is currently in England with the Australian side for the coming Ashes series, is the only high profile addition to last season's squad.

Bid for Afridi may hurt Chargers

Shahid Afridi is set to be approached by an Australian domestic side to join it for the Champions League T20 tournament in 2010. In what could end up being an ironical development for the Deccan Chargers, Pakistan's man-of-the-moment, who steered his team to victory in the just-concluded ICC World Twenty20 tournament with superlative performances in the last two matches, is on New South Wales's radar for next season's domestic season.

Bravo for Bushrangers

THE Bushrangers today confirmed the signing of West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo for next season's twenty20 Big Bash competition.

Victorian coach Greg Shipperd believes an expected influx of overseas cricketers for this summer's domestic Twenty20 competition will pave the way for the proposed Southern Premier League.

Bid for Afridi

DYNAMIC Pakistani batsman Shahid Afridi will be targeted as NSW's foreign import for next season's domestic Twenty20 competition, after leading his country to glory in England.

NSW will approach Afridi to join their ranks with the intention of qualifying him for the lucrative Champions League Twenty20 tournament in 2010, but he could also be used in the Sheffield Shield.
