Auckland aces knocked out!

Wednesday, September 21, 2011

Somerset 126 for 6 (Snell 34*, Hildreth 34) beat Auckland 125 for 7 (Vincent 47*) by four wickets Steve Snell, who was in the anonymity of Minor Counties cricket last month, proved the unlikeliest of heroes for Somerset with a game-turning late cameo which ended Auckland's Champions League hopes after a last-ball thriller in Hyderabad. Snell, only making the trip to India because Somerset's two preferred wicketkeeper-batsmen Craig Kieswetter and Jos Buttler were tied up with the England Twenty20 team, concocted a 24-ball 34 that proved the difference in a low-scoring encounter. Trinidad & Tobago ready for Ruhunu test

No matter how low West Indian cricket may sink but the presence of a team from the Caribbean always lends a dash of exuberance. Trinidad and Tobago are no exception. After setting the 2009 Champions League on fire on this very ground, T&T are keen to make up for their absence from the tournament last year. To play in the qualifiers may not be appealing for T&T, who were the finalists in 2009. But skipper Daren Ganga is not disturbed. Tuesday, August 30, 2011

The IPL franchises have emerged as clear winners when it comes to players deciding between playing for them or their home sides in the upcoming Champions League Twenty20. Eight players were originally nominated for two squads and were given 48 hours to decide which team they would play for before the final squads were announced today.
