Kent chief vows to fight for Champions League

Paul Millman, the Kent chief executive, is adamant his club will participate in the Champions League later this year. The International Cricket Council (ICC) have chosen to delay the decision of whether to officially sanction the proposed Twenty20 Champions League. The ICC have previously backed plans for the tournament but there still needs to be an agreement for when the tournament can be staged.

Central Districts on standby for Champions League

Sony floats Champions T20 ad-rates even before bagging rights

Broadcaster Sony Entertainment Television (SET), a key contender for the upcoming Champions T20 League, has unofficially begun floating packages for potential advertisers in the market. The rates that are currently being quoted are Rs 3.5-4 lakh for a 10-second spot. Media agencies said that Sony is currently testing the waters and have, therefore, begun informal conversations with key clients and agencies.

Middlesex in Twenty20 Champions League

English side Middlesex has been confirmed as one of the eight teams to take part in cricket's inaugural Twenty20 Champions League, which starts in India next month.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed its Twenty20 champion side would take part in the tournament, which also includes Victoria and Western Australia as Australia's two representative sides.

Pakistan to send two teams in Champions League

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to field in two teams in the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 tournament to be held in India from September 29 to October 8. Although ICC has expressed reservations over the event, PCB Chief Operating Officer, Shafqat Naghmi made it clear that Pakistan would support every decision on the Indian Cricket Board-backed Twenty20 tournament.
