Blues confident of T20 success: Katich
Friday, October 2, 2009
NSW captain Simon Katich says the Blues will take plenty of confidence into next week's Champions League Twenty20 tournament in India, despite the absence of three international stars.
Paceman Nathan Bracken (knee surgery) and wicketkeeper Brad Haddin (finger operation) will miss the inaugural tournament for the Blues, who are chasing a first prize of $US2.5 million ($A2.88 million).
Australian vice-captain Michael Clarke had already declared himself unavailable before he was sent home early from the Champions Trophy one-day tournament in South Africa with a back problem.
Last summer's BigBash domestic T20 champions NSW will join runners-up Victoria in representing Australia in the 12-team event in India.
